Weekly, a dialysis patient comes in contact with a large amount of water, therefore, must meet high quality and purity requirements. Specifically, the dialysis fluid must have:
» a correct electrolytic composition
» a low concentration or absence of organic or inorganic chemical micropollutants
» a low concentration or absence of bacteria, yeasts , fungi and endotoxines
The strict Guidelines of Italian Society of Nephrology and the variability of the chemical-physical and bacteriological parameters of local mains water need the application of innovative technical solutions, able to offer the best results at competitive costs.
On the wake of this, Gel Company has designed and built the BIOSMOSIS GELMED systems, Medical Device certified, in accordance with European Directive 93/42 CEE.
Gel has supplied this kind of system to the most important Dialysis Centers, obtaining excellent results in terms of reliability, ease of running, control and sanitation. In particular, the advantages of the compact Gelmed System are:
• Medical Device Certification, in accordance with European Directive 93/42 CEE. The whole process die plate, from pretreatment to bi-osmosis, is certified Medical Device
• Ultrafiltration. This low pressure separation precess is able to filter virus, bacteria, foots and colloids through semipermeable hallow fibre membranes, having
pores between 0,01 and 0,1micron in diameter. The ultrafiltration provides the sanitation of osmotic membranes, lengthening 20% of their useful life and increasing their efficacy
• Ultraviolet light lamp. The UV germicide lamp provides the disinfection of water from the ring back in the osmosis line
• Automatic switching from bi-osmosis to mono-osmosis
• Switching on and off programable and manageable by PLC
• Permeate pipes made of PVDF
• Reduced space dimensions
